As a high school student in Michigan in the early 70’s I read “Silent Spring” (my biology teacher and great influencer of my life recommended it). The book did indeed make a big difference as I went on to get a degree in limnology, the study of fresh water habitats. Through twists and turns of life I ended up as a public health Infectious Diseases physician in Maryland and now live in a house that less than a mile from the Rachel Carson Preserve. 🙂❤️

I’ve been enjoying these 1-minute vignettes. How about inviting everyone and anyone to create our own 1-minute videos (maybe supply us a template for intro and outro?) about people and happenings that we believe contribute to our national tapestry? Kind of like the AIDS quilt - no prior authorization necessary; just a collection of individual contributions that make up a wondrous whole.
