My husband's cardiologist competed as Miss California! Brilliant, able to explain even to him -- he once told our daughter the brain was made of muscle! -- thorough, kind. She acted as if she had all the time in the world to help him understand. And, the two of them bonded over ice hockey!
PS He was brilliant too, just not about biology.
