Kent State Killings, Narrated by Rosanne Cash
Rosanne Cash is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and the author of four books, including the best-selling memoir Composed. Across 15 albums, her work has earned four Grammys and 12 additional nominations. She is one of the few women inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the only woman to receive the Edward MacDowell Medal in Composition, and is an honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Cash recounts the 1970 Kent State killings, when National Guardsmen opened fire, leaving four students dead and forcing a national reckoning over protest and police violence.

I was in college in DC and was regularly participating in protest marches. It was a very scary time. National Guard throughout the city. Tear gas being liberally deployed against peaceful protesters. Does any of this sound familiar?
The military draft had recently been re-instituted. Deferments were difficult to come by. But the current chief executive got at least three -- bone spurs LOL.
The Kent State murders changed the entire dynamic. The outcry from the public was overwhelming.
That was then. This is NOW. Apparently people can be targeted, arrested, shot and killed without any due process and the agencies of our government accept zero accountability for their heinous crimes.
There is one man who could end this. Instead he rejoices in the public's suffering and dances on the graves of the dead.
I want my 1970s country back. 😢
