I had the pleasure of knowing a 10th Mountain Division soldier (now passed) who skied with the Waterville Valley (NH) Black and Blue Trail Smashers (the oldest senior ski club in America) well into his 80s. Recently his grandson has been regaling members with his research into his grandfather's experiences gleaned from diary notes written in minute print on, I believe, cigarette packages. Plus other memorabilia. Don't forget that these were very dedicated young men who went off to fight for their country.
Why are you calling the US Dept of Defense the Dept of war. The name has not been officially changed. Calling it by Trump’s nickname is inaccurate and promoting his misuse of language and more.

The Father of a close friend, in Oregon, was in this Division. Glen Asher. He skied on Mount Hood for many years, before and after WWII.
